6th Anniversary Power of 8 MTB in Support of MitoCanada

Welcome to the 6th Annual Power of 8 MTB in Support of MitoCanada!

The Power of 8 MTB’s goal is to bring riders (new/old) together to raise awareness and funds for Mitochondrial Disease, while riding through beautiful Buffalo Pound Provincial Park for a charity close to my heart – MitoCanada.

All of the proceeds from the event go to MitoCanada – Our goal is to raise a $1,500 this year, which is equivalent to each of the last 5 years!

What is Mitochondria? Mitochondria are mighty, microscopic, energy-producing structures that are essential to our health. These organelles (specialized structures within a cell performing specific functions) live within almost every cell in our bodies.

Mitochondria are responsible for creating more than 90% of the energy needed to sustain life and support organ function. They’re like tiny factories in each of our cells that turn the food we eat and the oxygen we breathe into energy – our body’s major energy source. We cannot survive without them.

What is MitoCanada? MitoCanada is dedicated to creating a world where all lives are powered by healthy mitochondria. Protecting and enhancing human energy is at the core of everything we do.

How can you participate:

• 4-hour solo
• 8-hour solo
• 8-hour team (2 to 5 riders)
