As a member of Saskatchewan Cycling you only have insurance when you are participating in sanctioned cycling activities. This leaves some cycling that is done by members, that is deemed outside of these sanctioned activities. To fill in some of these gaps, there is an optional 24/7 Personal Cycling Sports Coverage that members may purchase.
This exclusive coverage provides 24/7 coverage as a result of an accident directly arising from your use of a bicycle.
Key Features of this optional policy are:
$1,000,000 in coverage
Cycling liability claims are prevalent especially in busy cities. This policy includes coverage for “bodily injury and property damage” that you are legally responsible for as a result of your negligence in the operation of a bicycle anywhere in Canada. This is valuable if you hit a moving vehicle, stationary vehicle, third party property, sign, building or even a pedestrian.
Note: This Coverage is excess of Statutory Benefits covered under an automobile insurance policy.
