FAQ
FAQ
How do I find a club?
Clubs affiliate through the SCA each year. Each club is unique in terms of which programs they offer, which disciplines they ride or whether they are a recreational club or a recreational and race club or are made up primarily of racers. All affiliated clubs are listed at https://saskcycling.ca/clubs/affiliated-clubs/
What if decide I do not want to join a club?
That is OK! You can still be a member of the SCA without joining a club. When you register you select the “I am racing as an Independent.” There is no Independent Fee when you register. You can purchase any kind of membership as an independent rider, however when/if you do decide to race you must race in a plain jersey. You cannot represent a non-affiliated club or have any other kind of advertising on your kit.
I’ve found a club, now what?
Your club can help you navigate which license you need to participate in their activities. Some clubs require you to register directly with them, while others go through the SCA.
If you do plan to race, you need a race license. You can find out about the different license types offered by visiting our Registration page.
I’m interested in racing, but don’t know where to start!
We get it. We’ve all been there. Entering your first race, or bringing you little race to their first race can be scary!
We have created a first race guide and a BMX first race guide that can help you prepare and gives you some step by step guidelines. Don’t be afraid at a race to ask questions! The ABA is onsite to help you wherever we can.
