DESCRIPTION:Welcome to the 6th Annual Power of 8 MTB in Support of MitoCanada! \nThe Power of 8 MTB’s goal is to bring riders (new/old) together to raise awareness and funds for Mitochondrial Disease\, while riding through beautiful Buffalo Pound Provincial Park for a charity close to my heart – MitoCanada. \nAll of the proceeds from the event go to MitoCanada – Our goal is to raise a $1\,500 this year\, which is equivalent to each of the last 5 years! \nWhat is Mitochondria? Mitochondria are mighty\, microscopic\, energy-producing structures that are essential to our health. These organelles (specialized structures within a cell performing specific functions) live within almost every cell in our bodies. \nMitochondria are responsible for creating more than 90% of the energy needed to sustain life and support organ function. They’re like tiny factories in each of our cells that turn the food we eat and the oxygen we breathe into energy – our body’s major energy source. SUMMARY:Flash Classic Double Points Memorial Race at Diamond BMX
DESCRIPTION:The Flash poster \nDiamond BMX in Warman is proud to host the first annual Flash Classic Double Points Memorial race. This race is in memory and celebration of Jamie “the Flash” Holtorf – an ex pro BMX rider from Saskatchewan. Jamie raced throughout the 80’s and into the early 90’s until his life was tragically ended too soon. Family and friends of Jamie will be in attendance to share about his life and the history of BMX in our province. \nThis will be a double points race for all members of Diamond BMX\, Globe BMX\, and 13th Ave BMX who register by 6pm the night prior. There will also be an open class race for adults that is open to any adult with a BMX and full gear who sign a waiver at check in. \nStick around after the races to enjoy beer gardens and entertainment (children are welcome when accompanied by a parent/guardian) – $2 cover charge. There will also be a raffle table throughout the evening so make sure to bring cash and enter to win some amazing prizes. \nThe City of Warman offers campgrounds at Prairie Oasis Park (same park as Diamond BMX track) so feel free to book a campsite and make a weekend out of it. \nThis is a race you do not want to miss!! SUMMARY:Haute Trout 2021
DESCRIPTION:Starting Saturday Morning from Tuft’s Bay campground in Elbow and trekking north along The Great Trail® towards Danielson Provincial Park. Using a mixture of gravel roads\, prairie trails\, pasture land and hiking singletrack\, we track the North side of Gartner Dam before hitting gravel and farm roads towards a pit stop in Birsay. Everyone’s watered\, the final stretch to the ferry brings the campground into view. A final climb out of the valley and it’s a home run down to the campsite and your evening gear.  Supper\, your beverages of choice and war stories from the trail are all included.   \nOn Day 2\,  Once fed and sorted out\, a short climb out of the park wakes up the legs for the run up into Grainland and a rendezvous with the crater! Once everyone is properly Cratered! we run down to the spectacular Vista’s of the Qu’Appelle Dam and into the hiking trails of Douglas Provincial Park and rejoining The Great Trail® along the East side of the lake. And finally\, the home stretch brings us to the Elbow Trails. A true gem of a trail tucked into the trees and hillsides along the lake.

DESCRIPTION:Unfortunately\, with COVID-19\, we are encouraging everyone to practice social distancing and we have postponed this event in line with SCA and Cycling Canada policies.  We will try to reschedule this for later in the season. \n  \nA gravel bike ride/tour/race that takes riders on some of the most scenic and challenging roads in the Qu’Appelle Valley. This style of event is becoming extremely popularly all over North America\, and it’s happening in Saskatchewan this summer! SUMMARY:HPL Cycling Provincial+ Zwift Group Ride
DESCRIPTION:This week we will ride Watopia’s Big Foot Hills course.  “Big Foot Hills” takes you on a meandering journey over the lower peaks of Watopia\, including Titans Grove in both directions.  This longer route is perfect for a ~2-hour free ride and includes 5 different KOM sections of short to medium length. \nStart time is 10am on Sunday\, May 10.\nDuration is up to 2 hours. \nThe host of the meetup is Steven Bass.  Please follow him on Zwift for your meetup invite. \nAlso we will be communicating on Discord.  Full details on our Zwift group rides here:  https://www.hplcycling.ca/zwift-group-rides
