Haute Trout 2021

Starting Saturday Morning from Tuft’s Bay campground in Elbow and trekking north along The Great Trail® towards Danielson Provincial Park. Using a mixture of gravel roads, prairie trails, pasture land and hiking singletrack, we track the North side of Gartner Dam before hitting gravel and farm roads towards a pit stop in Birsay. Everyone’s watered, the final stretch to the ferry brings the campground into view. A final climb out of the valley and it’s a home run down to the campsite and your evening gear.  Supper, your beverages of choice and war stories from the trail are all included.  

On Day 2,  Once fed and sorted out, a short climb out of the park wakes up the legs for the run up into Grainland and a rendezvous with the crater! Once everyone is properly Cratered! we run down to the spectacular Vista’s of the Qu’Appelle Dam and into the hiking trails of Douglas Provincial Park and rejoining The Great Trail® along the East side of the lake. And finally, the home stretch brings us to the Elbow Trails. A true gem of a trail tucked into the trees and hillsides along the lake.
